In 2002, the YFS united with students across the GTA lobbied for a discounted metropass for students with a victory of the establishment of a pilot project and in 2006 this discount was made permanent in the form of the VIP program due to the successful lobbying efforts of the YFS united with other GTA schools.

 In 2008, when TTC fares were being hiked by the TTC Commission, the YFS in coordination with students from across the GTA fought hard for the successful implementation of the discounted $99 Post-Secondary Student Metropass. After these success' the YFS has been dedicated to working to secure a Universal MetroPass (U-Pass) for all students in the GTA at an even further reduced price. At the current time, students are able to get their discounted Post-Secondary Student Metropass at a cost of $99 at the YFS Member Services Office located on the first floor of the Student Centre in Room 106.
