Hands Off Our Education is an ongoing fight against the Ford government’s continued attacks on students and public education through underfunding, austerity, and decisions made without regard for the communities most impacted by them. These choices are not neutral. They deepen barriers for students already pushed to the margins, disproportionately affecting low-income students, racialized students, disabled students, international students, and others facing systemic inequities.
Students deserve more than to be treated as budget cuts and statistics. We deserve accessible education, meaningful support, and a future shaped with us, not imposed on us. The YFS, alongside students across Ontario and the Canadian Federation of Students, will continue organizing, mobilizing, and taking action because education is a right, and students deserve a system that values our lives, voices, and futures.
Our Demands
1. Grants not loans; and remove all interest on OSAP loans;
2. Stop the tuition hikes;
3. Halt government interference on admissions, research security plans, and student fees.
4. An immediate injection of public funds into Post-Secondary Education.
