Bursaries
Centre for Women and Trans People - 322 First Student Centre
The Centre for Women and Trans people currently is piloting two different grant programs:
- Emergency Grants for Vulnerable Students Experiencing Sudden or Immediate Financial Need
For students who are in need of funds due to sudden crisis. This can be anything from your laptop being broken to needing to move immediately for safety. If approved grants start at $250 and can be as much as $1000. Priority is given to women (Trans and cis), Trans masc folks and nonbinary folks however any York undergraduate student can apply and be considered. Please come to our office to apply. The applications are reviewed regularly and we try to provide a decision and funds within two weeks of applying.
- Micro Grants for Groceries
For York students who express food insecurity issues. Student may come to our office to fill out a form and pick up a $25 grocery card once every six weeks. Priority is given to Women (trans/cis), Trans masc folks and nonbinary folks. Come to the centre and ask to speak with mónica or Jamie for the form.
