TORONTO, July 30 /CNW Telbec/ - The York Federation of Students (YFS) is pleased to announce the completion of a review of the Elections Procedures Code, by the law firm Davis LLP. The periodic review of internal procedures found no major deficiencies in the YFS electoral procedures. Davis offered a number of recommendations to further enhance the efficiency and integrity of YFS electoral processes.
In conducting the audit the Elections Procedures Code was compared with similar codes at seven other universities and colleges, and with the procedures observed by Elections Canada. Davis LLP concluded that the York Federation of Students either had similar or superior procedures in place when compared to these other systems.
The York Federation of Students represents over 50,000 undergraduate students at York University and is a member of the Canadian Federation of Students and the Canadian Federation of Students-Ontario.
